At the end of June, Pilsen will change into the capital of tap dancing. For eleventh time, Czech as well as foreign dancers, from the very youngest to the masters in their field, will make the city centre dance. The Pilsen Tap Festival will introduce you to tap dance not only as a dance art and sport discipline, but also as a hobby that everyone can engage in, no matter the age.
The rhythmic clacking of metal taps, which will sound in the streets, will awaken a desire to join the synchronized tapping. You can practice tap dance in dance workshops for public, where experienced tutors will guide you step by step and sound by sound. The dance, which one can not only see, but also hear, will be performed by soloists and groups. You will see, for example, performances of tap schools and studios. Tapping out the rhythm and moving the whole body will be included in tap improvisations, for example at the Friday Tap Jam evening. A gala evening at the Great Theatre featuring international tap stars will crown the dance programme.
