Every larger city has its own street artists and you’re sure to find a couple of them in Pilsen. However, if you arrive at the capital of West Bohemia at the beginning of September, you can admire plenty of musicians, dancers, actors, magicians, acrobats and many other performers from all over the world right in the city historical centre. No need to purchase any tickets, simply throw a bit of change into artists’ hat. Busking is, in fact, nothing new, it has existed since the Middle Ages. It’s up to each artist whether they will enchant you with their performance so much you stop there and watch for a while.
Due to the ongoing reconstruction of Republic Square, the main festival zone will move to a new location, the Mill Race (Mlýnská strouha). The programme will also be concentrated in beautiful city parks around the historical centre. You will meet buskers particularly at these following venues: at the Mill Race (Mlýnská strouha), the “Proluka” in the Křižíkovy sady park, near the Museum of West Bohemia, in the “U Branky” area, next to the Lokál Pod Divadlem restaurant, and, for the very time, at the Memorial to the Victims of Communist Terror. Also, the festival map will guide you
