One evening a year, places you don’t normally get to visit, and hundreds of scientific secrets just waiting to be explored – that is the countrywide event Researchers’ Night.
You will take a look into laboratories, lecture halls, and other spaces, where you will be discovering wonders of science. You can look forward to interactive exhibitions, science experiments, workshops, interesting lectures, games, competitions, quizzes and practical demonstrations with commentary. You will have a beautiful view of the starry night at an observatory.
Everybody is welcome here, no matter the age. The only important thing is curiosity and a desire to learn something fascinating. This year’s theme is communication that applies not only to people, but also plants, animals, machines, the universe and many other areas. Come and explore with scientists and researchers where we can find communication and learn that the science itself has always something to say. Children will enjoy a plenty of fun as well.
Where does the Researchers’ Night take place?
The Researchers’ Night takes place in the buildings and on the campus of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, on the Plzeňská campus of the Second Faculty of Medicine of Charles University, and also at the Pilsen and Rokycany Astronomical Observatory.
What time to come to the Researcher’s Night?
Most places are open from 5 pm to 10 pm. To one of the events at the observatory, you can arrive already at 1 pm.
