One evening a year, places you don’t normally get to visit, and hundreds of scientific secrets just waiting to be explored – that is the countrywide event Researchers’ Night, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
In the Pilsen Region, the Researchers’ Night takes place in the campus of the University of West Bohemia and also at the Pilsen and Rokycany Astronomical Observatory. Everybody is welcome here, no matter the age. The only important thing is curiosity and a desire to learn something fascinating. A theme of this year is Wealth, which is hidden also in minds of each of us. Come and explore with scientists themselves the essence of wealth and where to look for it in science.
You will take a look into laboratories, lecture halls, the university library and other areas, where you will be discovering wonders of science. You can look forward to interactive exhibitions, science experiments, workshops, and interesting presentations. You will get to know what the researchers see as true wealth, whether they find it in modern technologies, society, art, or simply in science itself. You will have a beautiful view of the starry night at the Pilsen and Rokycany observatories.
