Like early Christmas presents, the design products will be brought to the culture zone DEPO2015 by the design event of the year, Pilsen Design. The entire weekend will be dedicated not only to the design work, but also to experiences in the form of an engaging programme that gives visitors a deeper insight into design and craft production. In the spirit of this year’s title “Design on the Road”, you will set off, not surprisingly, into the world – where, as proper travellers, you can’t do without a few (design) essentials. That’s the reason why you will be presented with camper vans, car camping setups, and various gadgets that make travelling easier and are also a feast for the eyes. Curious eyes won’t miss both prototypes of cars and rebuilt vans that designers and skilful handymen have created exactly to their own liking. Add to that lectures, workshops, competitions and a lot of new things designed for passionate travellers, all accompanied with pleasant DJ sets, and Pilsen Design is calling you, just like the unknown landscapes do. There will be also the lighting of a Christmas tree which the Suška lookout tower in the courtyard will capably stand for.
And because good food and warming drinks are also part of the festive mood, the Advent mini DEPO Street Food Market in the courtyard of DEPO2015 will join the Pilsen Design for the first time. Would you like some mulled wine, a sweet treat, or something else?
Pilsen Design will be open both days from 10 am to 5 pm.
And if you would like to have an original piece of art at home, we recommend taking a stroll along stalls of Czech designers. They will offer you their products at the Christmas MINT Market, which will be held there at the same time. Book lovers should not miss the book fair BookFest where dozens of small publishing houses will bring a lot of excellent literature that you won’t find anywhere else.
