BLIK BLIK Festival of Light

One of the most significant cultural events of contemporary visual arts in the region – the BLIK BLIK Light Festival – is coming back to Pilsen in March. For the very first time in the history of the festival, the 11th edition will last three day. At particular stops, artists from around the world will present laser light mapping, video mapping, giant static projections or interactive light exhibits tailored to the location. Every year during the festival, various places around Pilsen come to life with light, thus offering a unique spectacle for anyone enjoying an evening stroll. In the spirit of this year’s topic, Symbiosis, the festival focuses on the inseparable relationship between man, city and nature.

Tickets for the indoor installations must be purchased on the festival website or at the venue. There are two options on offer – a standard pass, which includes 6 entries to installations on one festival day of your choice (Thursday, Friday, or Saturday), and an express pass, which allows you to visit any installation on all three days. The number of express passes is limited.

The exhibits can be viewed from 7 pm to 11:59 pm.

What can you look forward to this year?

  • The route with seventeen light installations – it will connect the culture centre DEPO2015, Republic Square, U Ježíška park and Roudná city quarter.
  • Two epicentres of the route – Republic Square with a light sculpture park and the courtyard of the Pilsen City Hall & the area DEPO2015.
  • Interior exhibits at unique locations – this year, you can visit, for example, the Museum of Ecclesiastical art (Moonies & Uranium installations) and, for the first time, the Pilsen City Hall (Symmemoria projection) and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (the meditative installation Glasstides).
  • The interactive light installation FLUX with 4,800 metres of LED strips and a 6-meter-high structure – the art work by the Polish studio Ksawery Komputery changes according to the movement of visitors.
  • Large-scale video mapping for the 100th anniversary of the Pilsen Zoo – projected onto the newly renovated façade of the DEPO2015.
